Reading Brewing Company “Employee Entrance” Reverse Painted Glass Sign Reading produced a Pennsylvania Dutch Lager at a volume of 1,200 barrels a year. The brewery raised its production to approximately 50,000 barrels a year by 1891. Reading suffered from difficulties after Prohibition began in 1920. From 1928 to 1933, the brewery was closed down. The facility itself was almost dismantled, but U.S. Marshals had trouble breaking the padlock on the front door and eventually left the plant intact. After considerable litigation, Reading brewery reopened in 1934. From 1934 to 1951. This really cool sign is made from antique jealousy glass and is reverse hand painted. Great for the collector and neat decor. Measures about 30" by 4" and about 1/4" thick. These Black and Gold custom signs have become rare to find these days. If you’re decorating or designing in different spaces, these signs can add a lot of character. This is made of old antique jealousy glass and reverse painted. It is a heavier item and we must ship it in a special box to prevent damage. It is in Great Condition but there could be some minor nicking around the sides from the cutting process I would imagine however it does not take away from the appearance. There also could be minor scratching of black which can be touched up if you desire. Displays nicely, great addition to your collection or decor! Measures 30” long x 4" tall.
