John August Groth (February 26, 1908 - June 27, 1988) was an illustrator and teacher. He gained recognition as a war correspondent-illustrator, where he incorporated a technique he called the "speed line." He was the first art director of Esquire Magazine and taught at the Art Students League, the Pratt Institute, and the Parsons School of Design. This is a very nice, vintage John Groth Signed Etched Picture. It is framed. It is also dated August 5th, 1966. Written on it says, "For Patty". This is a great artist and his work is very collectable! It measures about 14.5 x 12 inches. Patty might have been his daughter, Tamara. There are no water marks. It measures 14.5 x 12 inches.
