You are buying a rare US Department of agriculture 5 pound American cheese box. I believe these boxes of cheese came out in the late 70s early 80s when the government was trying to help out farmers with eggs and milk. They gave away 5 pounds of cheese to families as a way to use up the surplus of milk. Sadly in my community much of this cheese ended up in the hands of the mob who then forced small business owners to buy it from them and sell to the public in their stores. That was never the intention of this program. Most of these cheese boxes survived because no one thought of saving them. The box measures about 11 inches long. In pretty good shape for its age but I’m sure it has minor flaws but it’s not ripped or torn. We describe items as best we can and as we see them. Please see pictures for best description.
